As our finances have tightened, we have had to reduce our spending on book stock, especially our back catalogue. Now we focus on buying mostly new releases and best sellers. At the old location, over 30% of the titles we sold would take over a year to sell - that means in order to have a rich, diverse catalogue of books, we need to tie-up about $50,000 in stock that won’t sell soon. This $50,000 will be a loan from Glad Day Lit to Glad Day Bookshop for 2 years, with Glad Day Lit getting back $60,000 at the end of 2 years.
